A: Each day is split into two separate half day sessions. The AM session runs from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and the PM session from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
A: Full day camps start at 9:00 am each day; it is recommended that children arrive between 8:45 am and 8:55 am but they may be dropped off as early as 8:30 am. Camp ends at 3:30 pm. Late pick-up options are available.

A: We offer camps at 5 locations:

UWS 100th Street – 805 Columbus Avenue (entrance on 100th)

Q: Do you offer early drop-off?
A: Yes, early drop-off is available at no additional cost. With this option campers are allowed to arrive as early as 8:30 am.
Q: Do you offer late pick-up?
A: Late pick-up beyond 3:30 pm is not offered.
A: Late pick-up until 5:00 pm is available at an additional cost. For those campers who elect the late pick-up option, it’s all fun and games! From math puzzles to challenging board games, children will have the opportunity to polish their math and gaming skills – all with a big blast of fun! The program starts shortly after camp ends at 3:30 pm and continues until 5:00 pm. The fee for late pick-up is $50 for the week.
Q: What is the Lunch Bunch program for Pre-K/K campers?
A: The Lunch Bunch program is designed to offer a break for lunch and additional activities during the time period between the AM and PM camp sessions (11:30 am to 1:00 pm). During Lunch Bunch campers eat lunch and play organized group games supervised by Launch instructors. Campers enrolled in a full day of camp (both AM and PM sessions) are automatically registered for Lunch Bunch at no additional cost. Please note, Launch does not provide lunch meals and all food must be supplied by parents.
Q: Is the Lunch Bunch program available to AM only or PM only Pre-K/K campers?
AM campers (9:00 am-11:30 am) have the option to add Lunch bunch to extend their day to 1:00 pm. PM campers (1:00 pm- 3:30 pm) can elect Lunch Bunch and start their day at 11:30 am. The Lunch Bunch add-on is an additional $50 per week for AM only or PM only campers (contact us at email@example.com to register). For kids enrolled in both the AM and PM camp for the week, Lunch Bunch is free!
Q: My child has a friend attending camp the same week. Will they be in the same group?
A: Generally if your child and their friend are attending camp at the same location and are in the same program (age group), they will be in the same camp group. However, if you have a special request regarding the pairing of kids you must email us at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible after registration and we will do our best to accommodate (please note that submitting a request does not guarantee a child’s placement).
Q: Do you offer busing?
A: Unfortunately, we do not offer transportation services to/from camp at this time.
Q: Can my child participate in the same camp twice?
A: We offer four different camp themes that repeat throughout the summer for each of the three age groupings: Pre-K/K, 1st-3rd grades and 4th-8th grades. Children may participate in all four of our camps in any order, however enrolling in the same camp theme more than once is not recommended (projects will be repeated).
Q: Which camp group is most appropriate for my child?
A: Your child’s placement is determined by the grade which they will be entering in the fall. EXAMPLE: If your child is currently in 3rd grade and will be entering 4th grade next fall he/she should join one of our 4th-8th grade camps. We understand in some cases private and public school calendars may differ. If you are unsure of which group your child should join please contact Launch (email@example.com) for help determining the proper placement before registering.
Q: My child is not 4 years old yet but will be before the start of camp, can he/she still attend?
A: Children entering Pre-K in the fall who want to join us for our summer camps must turn 4 years old no later than 6/19/17. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Launch (firstname.lastname@example.org) for help determining your child’s eligibility before registering.
Q: My child is 6 years old but going into Kindergarten, which age group does he/she fall into?
A: Launch Pre-K/K camps are generally for children ages 4 and 5 years old who are entering Pre-K or Kindergarten. If your child is entering Kindergarten but will be 6 years old at the start of camp, please contact Launch (email@example.com) before registering for help determining proper placement.
Q: My child is 13 years old. Is there a place for him/her at Launch camp?
A: Launch 4th-8th grade camps are enjoyed by children ranging in age from 9 to 13 years old. However, please note that the age distribution of children in the 4th-8th grade camps typically skews towards the younger end of the spectrum.
Q: What happens in a typical day at Camp?
A: Every day children explore a new set of activities. Part of each half day camp involves theme based STEM activities, fun games and hands-on projects. Approximately midway through each half day session there is a break for snack time (food provided by parents). The second part of each half day camp consists of craft-building, science experiments, and other fun projects. A: Full day Launch camps engage children mentally as well as physically. Half of each day is spent working on theme based projects and challenges. The other half of each day is spent participating in a combination of high energy games and STEM exploration activities. Campers will be going outdoors and should come with sneakers and sunscreen pre-applied. Q: Do the kids take field trips?
A: In general only the 1st-8th grade camps spend time outdoors in local parks, and in some cases take extended field trips. For example, the Rocket Science camp for 4th-8th grade campers takes a ½ day trip to Liberty State Park in NJ via subway and ferry.
Q: Is there a snack time?
A: Yes, approximately halfway through each half day camp there is a break for snack time. Snacks are not provided by Launch. We recommend that children bring a snack for each half day camp they are attending. Snacks will be kept cool, if necessary. Please note we ask that parents provide nut-free snacks.

Q: What should I consider when packing lunch for my child?
A: Lunch is not provided by Launch. The AM camp session ends at 11:30 am, the PM camp session starts at 1:00 pm. Children enrolled in either the AM camp or the PM camp should plan to eat lunch after the morning camp or before the afternoon camp. If a child enrolls in both the AM and PM camps they should plan to join us for the Lunch Bunch Program where they will eat lunch and engage in additional recreational activities from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. In this case, campers must bring lunch with them to eat during the Lunch Bunch break. Please note we ask that parents provide nut-free lunches.
A: Lunch is not provided by Launch. We recommend sending your child’s lunch in an insulated lunch box (if necessary we can keep a lunch chilled). However, we cannot warm or reheat lunches. All campers should be sent to camp with a large water bottle in addition to any drinks included for lunch. Please note we ask that parents provide nut-free lunches.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Launch offers flexibility when your child’s availability to join us hits a snag:
The Flexibility To Switch
Your child can no longer make it to camp on the week that you purchased? Launch allows campers one opportunity to switch camp weeks up to 30 days prior to the start of a session (subject to availability). Within 30 days of the start of a session there is a $50 per camp fee to switch.
The Flexibility To Transfer
Your child can no longer make it to camp at all this summer? Launch allows a transfer of camp fees to a sibling or family member or friend.
If All Else Fails… Canceling Is An Option
A $200 per camp non-refundable deposit is required to register. Canceling up to 30 days prior to the start of a session is allowed (but deposits are non-refundable). The full price of camp is non-refundable for cancellations within 30 days of the start of the session.
All requests to switch/transfer/cancel camps must be sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name, your child’s name, the camps affected and your reason for the change.
Q: Do you offer discounts or scholarships?
A: Yes! We offer substantial discounts including Early Bird and Multiple Camp. Please reference our pricing and discount charts on the Summer Camps page on the website. Scholarship program information including how to apply will be posted February 1.
Q: How do I get in touch with my child or a Launch instructor in the case of an emergency?
A: In the event of an emergency only, campers can be reached at the appropriate phone number for each camp location. Location phone numbers are provided in the welcome email that is distributed each week prior to camp. If you are unable to reach a Launch representative at any particular location, please call the Launch flagship center on 81st Street at 212-600-1010 and we will contact the staff for you. For non-emergency needs, please call the Launch flagship center number first.
Q: What is the Instructor to camper ratio?
A: There are at most four campers per Launch Instructor.
