Join our aspiring video game designers and animators as we take on a fresh set of coding challenges! Using MIT’s Scratch 3.0, Launch students explore core coding concepts like timing, event handling, and sequencing, all while engaging in themes such as Drawing & Animation, Storytelling, Problem Solving, and Game Design. From crafting custom start screens with titles and theme songs to creating epic game-over scenes, young coders bring their imaginations to life. With multiple levels of challenge available, students can repeat this class to build proficiency and tackle fresh challenges each time.
Additional Topics Include: Logical Thinking, Problem Solving, Debugging, Loops and Repetition, Events and Triggers, Cause and Effect, Spatial Reasoning, Storytelling Through Code, Character and Game Design, Collaboration and Sharing
No previous coding experience is required, however your child must be comfortable working independently on a computer.
