Scratch Basics

Grades 2nd To 4th

Whether you are new to coding with Scratch or just want to make sure you have the fundamentals down, Scratch Basics is for you! But don’t let the name fool you, this class is far from rudimentary! Through the creation of games and animations, coders focus on mastering essential Scratch skills such as forever loops, custom character design, arrow key controls, variables, problem solving and more – all while building computer literacy using a mouse, keyboard, and overall navigation.

No previous coding experience is required. Students must have a computer in order to code (not a tablet). It is highly recommended but not required that students use one computer to code and another device (tablet, computer) to participate in the Zoom class at the same time.
