Coding + Animation
For Campers Entering 2nd – 5th Grade, Fall 2021
Combine logic and creativity to bring objects to life with Launch’s merging of computer programming and animation! Using MIT’s Scratch 3.0 computer language, campers create code that energizes their favorite superheroes, advances animated sprites through multi-level video games, and powers music videos with each camper as the star! But the fun and learning does not end there. Kids explore claymation, pixilation, and other stop motion techniques to create imaginative and entertaining videos with their peers. No previous coding experience is required. However, campers must be comfortable working independently on a computer, including operating the computer using a mouse and reading and understanding basic words used to code.
Additional Topics Include: The 12 Principles of Animation, Walk Cycles, Timing and Spacing, Key Frames, Computer Programming
