Grades 5th To 7th
Expand your coding skills to build Android apps for use on mobile and tablet devices. With an interface similar to Scratch, MIT’s user-friendly App Inventor system enables kids to learn how to design a GUI (graphical user interface), where to place buttons and text, and how to strategically use multiple screens. From creating an app that tourists can use when they visit your favorite city to making a simple version of the Space Invaders arcade game, app coders explore critical programming elements such as conditional statements and Boolean operators. Previous experience coding with Scratch or similar highly recommended.
