Dancing Into STEM
Whoever said that dance and STEM would never be linked was wrong! Launch is sending a major kudos over to a local New Yorker, Yamilée Toussaint, for her efforts with STEM education across young girls in NYC. Her philosophy goes hand in hand with what we stand for at Launch – make learning FUN!
Yamilée Toussaint has found a way to combine her passion for math, education, and dance into the lives of young girls who face economic hardships and build not only their confidence but their interest in STEM for their future careers. She has paved the way for their futures and as she so poetically shares “Education is something you can’t take away from somebody, and it’s like an irreversible change that has taken place in their lives.”
Watch this uplifting video of her students dancing to their own choreography and in outfits they coded themselves through design, circuitry, and physics. It doesn’t get much better than that!
